Literature Circles

Elaine Jaltema, MyPITA Past-President, has been giving her Literature Circles workshop for MyPITA for many years.   She has been instrumental in helping many teachers gain the confidence to try Literature Circles in their classrooms. In this session, taped and edited by Ray Myrtle through the StartUP! program, and with financial support by MyPITA, we are able to share Elaine's popular Literature Circles workshop with you.

This 90-minute workshop has been edited into  sections for your viewing convenience. This workshop was filmed while being presented to new teachers, but the information in the videos is relevant to anyone looking to incorporate Literature Circles into their practice, regardless of their level of classroom experience.  Further resources for implementing Literature Circles and working with novels  in your classroom can be found here.
