2026 Fall CONFERENCE POLICIES

Registration includes:

Important Information
  • Register early to get your first choice of workshops. No waitlists.
  • Registration closes at noon (Vancouver time) on September 30, 2026, or when the event sells out, whichever comes first. 

Cancellation and Refund Policies
The myPITA Executive approved the following cancellation and refund policies.
If you contact myPITA’s registrar, please be collegial. The myPITA executives are teachers who volunteer their time to advocate for teachers and to develop amazing professional development opportunities and teaching resources for intermediate and middle school teachers across BC.
  • All times are Pacific time.
  • Early bird registration ends* at 12:00 PM on September 30, 2026.
  • Refund requests received before 11:59 AM on September 30, 2026, will be refunded less a $30 administration fee. Refunds may take up to two weeks to process. 
  • No refunds or workshop changes will be issued after noon on September 30, 2026. No exceptions to the refund policy will be made.
  • Registration for in-person workshops will close at noon on October 18, 2026, or when sold out, whichever comes first. There will be no walk-in registration.
  • To be confirmed when registration for online workshops will close.

Responsibilities
  • myPITA cannot be held responsible for ensuring that registration and communication emails reach the registrant. If you have not received your registration confirmation email or the conference communication email, please contact the volunteer registrar at [email protected].
  • myPITA cannot be held responsible for an individual's ability to access and operate a computer, including, but not limited to, email, the attendee website, and Zoom.
  • myPITA reserves the right to cancel or change workshops with low enrolment. Participants will be notified about workshop cancellations or changes by the end of the day on October 1st. In the event of a workshop cancellation, affected participants will be given at least 24 hours to reschedule their workshops. 

All teacher registrants** will receive:
  • A myPITA membership that includes digital and mailed newsletters multiple times a year and password access to our continually expanding online teaching resources.
  • Access to the recordings of selected presentations for 14-90 days, depending on the agreement with the presenter.  
  • Access to the online exhibitors and exhibitor prize draws.

In-person attendance benefits
In-person attendees will receive:
  • A fabulous goody bag at the conference. 
  • Morning beverages and baked goods.
  • Catered lunch.
  • A flexible registration and attendance policy. Until 11:59 am on October 18, 2026, in-person registrants may request changes to attend online. After noon on September 30th, in-person conference registrants who change their registration to attend the online conference will not receive a goody bag or mailed goody package. Registration for a seat in an online workshop is subject to availability.
  • To be confirmed if in-person conference registrants may choose to attend in-person and/or online workshops, with a limit of one workshop per time slot. Only in-person conference registrants are permitted on-site. In-person conference registrants may attend online workshops on-site using their own device or at a location of their choice. 
Online attendees
  • Choose from over 65 online workshops. 

*Early bird ends at noon Vancouver time. 
*Registration closes when stated above or when sold out, whichever happens first.
**Education assistants (EAs) and youth and childcare workers (YCWs) receive a special rate but do not receive a myPITA membership. Proof of being an EA or YCW is required at the time of registration. Proof must include your name, position, and your school district or school name. Examples of proof include a link to your staff web page, a photo of your staff ID, or a scan of a document that includes the previously listed information.
Proof of current teacher candidate status is required at the time of registration.
